Actis Care was founded when our team of healthcare professionals recognized a critical gap in accessible emergency medical self-care. Too often, families and working professionals found themselves unprepared when health issues arose, whether at home or while traveling.

It started on a cruise ship. One of our founders was doubled over with stomach cramps, far from home and without any medication to help. After years of working in healthcare as physicians and executives, we had seen that scenario play out countless times — people not having convenient healthcare access or rushing to the doctor for something that could have been easily managed with the right over-the-counter medicines and supplies. My mother — a physician herself — used to pack me a well-stocked medical kit for life's unexpected moments. That simple act of care and preparedness along with seeing many folks struggle with healthcare access and costs, sparked our mission to make self-care accessible to everyone. We knew there had to be a better way.
